Cope family
« on: Monday 22 June 09 11:09 UTC (UK) »

Can anyone help me?  I am trying to trace the family of John Cope, born in Daventry in 1873.  In the 1900s, he worked as a Coachman Domestic in London and Newbury.  I cannot find trace of him after 1911, can anyone tell me whether he married and had children, or what happened to him after 1911.  I would be grateful for any information.  Thank you.

Hi

The 1901 shows him as married and living in Kensington London

John Cope 30 coachman b Northants
Maud 21 b Bayswater

They were both servants in the household of a Lord Frederick Cluts?Huh an Infantry General with lots of other servants

You would need to check the 1911 for any children

If he was John Garland Cope there is a marriage in Kensington in March qtr 1900 on freebmd but there are 3 male names and only 2 females on the same page - what's the betting the missing one is Maud!!!
