Stirling Veterans Day
« on: Monday 22 June 09 13:25 UTC (UK) »

I thought this might be of interest to some of you.

In Stirling on Saturday and saw this wee pony called Cruachan

He was leading a parade.

Cruachan, the regimental mascot was being followed by him.

and he was being followed by them.
(not the clearest of shots but I was walking backwards at the time.

To keep alive the memory of guys like these.

They marched up hill

and into the Kings Park

to take part in a military display.

and  by than I felt knackered
but at least I got myself a veterans badge.

Cheers.

Stirling is like that Anne.

We have all sorts of things happening but it's as if the organisers wish the arranged events to be kept secret from the general public.

They knew about it of course   Wink

                                                        And so did they    Smiley

Cheers.

  Hello Billy.
Nice to know that you got some pleasure from the photographs.
I have to agree with you about Cruachan's pal. even when I asked him to pose for a shot, he still managed to look like an unhapy chappie.

Not like the two gentlemen below. The guy on the left is clearly a natural poser. (that snap is an extract from a much larger photo)  The gentleman on the right is an Australian who I chatted to on the day. His name is John Gallagher and he had been a piper with his Australian unit.

'Right dress' before inspection.

The camera is a compact type Canon G9. It has now been sidelined in favour of the newer G10.

And now I suppose I'd better start thinking about deleting these photos before a moderator gives me a dressing down.

Cheers.

Thanks for more photos,
if that is Cruachans pal smiling!
Hopefully the fantastic kind moderator leaves these up for a wee while longer.
Unless of course the whole site crashes and they start pointing the finger,
many thanks, billy.
