Surprisingly, there are only two Hector M*clean baptisms in the parish records for Invernessshire 1800-1805. Neither were from the Skye parishes.

Were the family Roman Catholic?

do not know, all i know is a roderick mclean married ann  kinghorn in strath inverness, there is a hector mclean in that line

Hi everyone. 

Firstly thank you for contacting me

Hector Mclean was Roman Catholic.  He was married in Australia to a Mary Tierney in May 1835 at St Marys  RC Curch Sydney.

I do have descendant line here in Australia.

He was an Inn Keeper but not before being an overseer of convicts at a friend's property (I would assume). His  friend was Alexander Mcleod
