I have just been on Google Maps looking for the above address ,it brought up a picture of a modern looking house obviously it looks like the area has been developed, how can I find out when the houses of 1910 were demolished?

Hi Dotty: I looked at Google Maps and it gave the name as Litchfield St. Is that the correct spelling? I used Street View to go up and down Litchfield Street, and I think those houses are from the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s (at the latest), with aluminum siding to gussy them up a bit. The three-story houses are called (for obvious reasons) triple deckers. They are about the size of a steamboat and were built by the hundreds all over New England in the early 1900s. Go here to read about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_decker. The article even mentions the special circumstances of their building in Worcester.
The whole street looks like your typical old New England mill town neighborhood--slightly down-at-the-heels.
Hope this helps, John
