Hi Wendy,
There were marriages for a William Cummings for the following years in New South Wales.
William Cummings married ....
Bridget Derwin, 1865, Mudgee, New South Wales.
Hanora ? Heany, 1872, Sydney. New South Wales.
There were other marriages for a William after this date but I haven't included them here.
Do you have any other information, for instance as he came from Durham was he a miner?
John...Sydney

Hi again wendy,
So you are looking for info on him in Durham or England 1833-1856.. correct?

If so then you have two census that may help--- 1841 and 1851. They will give you basic info- 1851 more info that 1841. From them you should be able to establish if he had siblings, for example.  is this the sort of thing you want to know?

Hi Wendy Smiley

I am a bit puzzled how you know that George died in 1848.

The family's address is Sherburn Hill, not around Sherburn Hill in the 1851 census.
