I Believe, Do You?

I took a different approach using the freebmd register.
If he died between Bacup and Rochdale, his death would have been registered at one of them, so after looking at the registers for the area I found this info.
Haslingden Register Office Bacup 1895 - 1974
| Before 1895 Newchurch; Spotland (in Rochdale district) |
Next went to look for a death of a Mcnamara in Rochdale between 1858 & 60 It only came back with one.
Is this the poor chap ?
Teddy McNamara Q1 1859 Rochdale 8e 43
I went on to look for them in 1861 census but sad to say that drew a blank, I did find a Teddy & Julia Leary in Manchester, but I think it can be discounted.
Might be worth contacting the Rochdale archives unit as well http://www.rochdale.gov.uk/leisure_and_culture/libraries/local_studies_library.aspx

I cant say I have heard about this particular murder unfortunately
One site you could try getting information from is http://www.bacuptimes.co.uk The webmistress has access to most if not all the old local newspapers as well as working at the Bacup Natural History Museum that houses them.

It wouldn't surprised if he wasn't called Thomas,There is a son Thomas and it looks like Elizabeth's first son is Thomas.
