My husbands Grandfather Robert William Evans died in the Senghenydd Mine Disaster of 14th October 1913 and I have just located his burial place in Penyrhoel Cemetery. If there is someone who visits the cemetery I have a big ask if a photo could be taken of the grave. Robert William Evans is buried in Section B Plot 0-454. Many Thanks NSW Australia

Hello Dingaling I live quite close to Pen-yr-heol cemetery and would be pleased to help if I can. Can you let me know whether it is possible the grave had a headstone. This will make it a lot easier to find although if not I will try and meet the local sexton who can advise me the approximate location.
Hugh

Hi Hugh,
Thank you for your offer of photographing Robert William Evans grave....I DON'T believe that there would be a headstone as the families means were very limited..I have tried to find further details of the cemetery for easy searching but so far have not heard back from the Council.. Roberts Evans details are Robert William Evans Section B Plot O-454 Penyrlhoel Cemetery Many THANKS Kay Parsey NSW Australia

Hi Kay. GOOD NEWS. I have located the grave of your husbands grandfather Robert William Evans and better news he has a headstone.I have taken a number of photos for you including one of a memorial stone erected for all those who died in the Senghenydd explosion.
If you will let me have your E mail address I will send them to you.
