The address 62 Regent St Leighton Buzzard has emerged as where the person [ J.A. BARRETT now dead] may have lived in 1952.
Can someone who knows the town please tell me what is/was at this address? Is it an office? a house? if a house, what sort of house and fitting what sort of socioeconomic group?

Hi Charlotte.....
Yes Ricky is right. Regent Street is a residential road made up of a mix of terraced.... semi's and the odd detached house. Some new houses were added late 60's I believe but there is a good chance 62 remains the same as it did at the time . I used to have a friend who lived there when we were little and it has not changed in the last 40 years.
A 3 bed semi there cost around £225,000.

Biddy Hastings was born 1918 and lived in LB from 1957 [maybe earlier] to c. mid 60s when Mr Barr*tt died. So the person you know would have been in her late teens early 20s..are my maths correct 
The lady may remember the name Barr*tt if he was a generpus supporter of the music and drama socs.
