Kitchen Ride Road Chertsey

Has anyone got a map that locates Kitchen Ride Road, Chertsey. It appears in the 1901 census district 8 for Chertsey, Ottershaw village. I cannot find any reference to it in Google.

Hello

There is a Kitchenride Corner in the Ottershaw area at the junction of Foxhills Road and Stonehill Road (National Grid Ref. TQ013645).  Nearby there are houses called Kitchenride Cottages.

Thank you very much - this has narrowed it down considerably - not familiar with this area

Hi

I was looking for Kitchen Ride Road too.  Contacted the Ottershaw Village website
http://www.ottershaw-village.net
and got the following reply from a very nice man called Robert

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Ottershaw,+Chertsey,+Surrey,+KT16+0NT,+UK&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=19.385722,39.418945&ie=UTF8&ll=51.371298,-0.546076&spn=0.009966,0.019248&z=16

above link is where Kitchen Ride Road was. (Upper (northern) end of Foxhills Road). There were two cottages called Kitchen Ride Cottages that were knocked down and replaced by a larger building. This road is shown in survey map of 1871, of which a copy of the map can be purchased from the Ottershaw Society.

There are people in the village that can remember this road before it was changed to Foxhills Road. It sat at the edge of the Foxhills Estate.

You might also find the Surrey Interactive map site

useful too.

Hope this helps
