Hi heres hoping someone can help does anyone know if there was a workhouse in Belchamp st paul essex in the early 1800's. just got my 4xgt grandfathers death cert in the part were it says residence of informant it says Elizabeth[his wifes name] inmate present at death belchamp st pauls thanks

It's  post-1837 you are looking isn't it?

Quit possibly the Poor law "Union" house rather than the workhouse if it were early enough.
