Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me, I have a marriage of Thomas Whitby who married Elizabeth Cooper 31/5/1825 at St Bride, Fleet Street.
I'm having trouble finding who this Elizabeth Cooper was, from later censuses I have her birth somewhere between 1800-1805 in Holborn. The IGI list 4 different Elizabeth Coopers bpt in that time period in Holborn.
So I was hoping her actual 1825 marriage entry at St Bride might give a clue to her age ( if she was a minor for instance) or hopefully the marriage witnesses a clue to her siblings.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks John

Hi John
Having looked at a marriage indicates that usually indicates whether a spouse was a minor for this marriage it gives no indication Elizabeth was. It does however indicate that Thomas was a widower.

Hi Valda, You have given me food for thought there, I didn't know Thomas was a widower. Could I push my luck and ask if either of the marriage witnesses was from the Cooper family?
But what you've given me already is realy great, much appreciated, thanks John

Sorry John
It is an index it doesn't contain that further information otherwise I would have given it. The marriage register itself is held at the Guildhall Library.

Hi Dawn, This is great, thanks, so at least I'll have a shot at working out who Elizabeth Cooper was, too bad the witness was'nt something like Hepsibar or Tryphena, but that would be too easy, not so much fun. Thanks again
Best John
