Looking for information on Brothers James 1834 and Robert 1837?
Stocks, whose father was Charles William Stocks. James was born in Polkington Yorkshire, Robert (not sure if Robert is first or second name, birthplace is unknown). Jame's mother was Mary Byass ( Charles' second wife). From the family bible and oral history, I think , there was another brother named Thomas Henry born 1826, that went to Twin cities in America. The brothers kept in touch with another brother in Australia, Edward Stocks who came to Australia on the Lord Ashburton in 1849. I know that James and Robert married and my grandfather felt that , that they had married in America. I have found evidence of James and Robert in Waukesha Wisconsin Census. Can anyone add any more information? I do have information on the Stocks family in Pocklington and Burwood Victoria, Australia.

Robert is on the 1870, 1880, and 1910 census. I have not tried variations of his name; he probably can be found on the 1900 as well. You mention you have found evidence on census, so I will not type details.
1910 census states his year of immigration is 1851. No immigration date for wife, Eliza? States they had been married 49 years.
Found on the 1870 census, a neighbour of Robert is
James Stocks, age 35, born England, Farmer
Margaret, age 24, born Canada, Keeping House
John C?, age 5, born WI
Mary, age 2, born WI
