Marriage/Death record help please

Can anyone help me?

I am trying to find out some details of my grandfather. My dad was only young when he died and I cant seem to trace anything about him.

The ony details I have are:

Alexander Cooper
B:1927 Edmonton
D: somewhere around 1954 in a motorbike accident, I can only assume that it was also in the Edmonton area as this is were they lived

he was married to my nan, May Dorothy Ross...no idea when as cant find a marriage record either, but was in Edmonton. Children where Alexander B:1945, Michael B:1947 and Charles B:1949

his mum was a romany gypsy whom I think was called Phyllis Cooper nee Jones and his dad I think was called Alfred Cooper both B: c1900-1905

any help would be much appreciated as there is no one on this side of the family left I can ask

His birth certificate will confirm names of parents plus occupation of his father.

Births:      (from FreeBMD)
Alexander Cooper   JunQ 1927    Edmonton  3a   967  (mother Jones)


Marriages:     (from FreeBMD)

Alfred Cooper  MarQ 1923   Edmonton  3a 708   (bride Phyllis Jones)

Thanks for that. They are the same record as what I have managed to find, and have the marriage cert for Phyllis/Alfred...and so am sure that these are right....now just to find Alexanders marriage and death details

Which indexes are you using.

FreeBMD is a transcription of the GRO indexes themselves done by volunteers. FreeBMD shows their coverage using charts

very little coverage after the early 1930s

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/progressD.shtml#1930

deaths the same.

If you want to search the actual GRO indexes online then you need to go to a website like Findmypast

http://www.findmypast.com/home.jsp

You need to purchase credits to access the information.

I've checked deaths for 1949-61 inclusive (then I got bored and went to bed!)  The only Alexander Cooper of the right age is registered

1951  Apr-May-Jun  age 24   Eastbourne  Vol 5h Page 258
