Greggains family in Brigham completed
« on: Thursday 25 June 09 11:34 BST (UK) »

James Greggains, s/o William, married prior to 1870 and had two children before his wife died.  On Nov. 6,1875 he married second Martha Allison, d/o Isaac Allison, farmer of Quarry Bank. They had four children, including my grandfather James Greggains who married Susannah Atkinson and emmigrated to Canada in 1911.  Any information about any of these people and places would be much appreciated.

1881 is free to search - try www.familysearch.org

the others can be viewed at various subscriptions sites or pay to view sites.

But if you hang on a sec, i'll try to give you my transcriptions.
Thanks to Geoff-E's excellent work, I must be having an off day!

Hi
I think the word before Quarryman in 1871 is Freestone.
Can't make out Mary's birth place though.  Cross? something more?

Sounds good.  Where is it?   Had my maps out and could not see a suitable Cross etc place.

Thank you, got it.  That's why I couldn't find it on that map, Crossbarrow is just southeast of Clifton, below that map.   What is the best site for reproduceable maps?
