Please are there two places in Gloucester called Hempsford and Kempsford? or am I reading the writing on the census incorrectly  Huh

Ive just Googled "Hempsford" and it said "do you mean Kempsford" gateway to the Cotswold.. Grin

The RAC Motoring Atlas has a Kempsford Glos. but not a Hempford anything

Does your source give you some clue as to the location of the place?

Hi Arranroots the census 1851 HO107/1689 fo115 p17 clearly says Hempsford for Mary A Boucher  but I can only find Kempford. However his second wife was from Down Ampney which is not too far from Kempsford so I think I am safe in assuming that is the correct one until I can get to the RO to check it out.
