Where was this children's home?
« on: Thursday 25 June 09 15:15 BST (UK) »

Hi,

The attached picture is a transcipt from Andover Children's Home in Islington from 1903. My great-grandmother, Ellen Smith, was transferred to St Mary's Home in West Norwood. However, I can't read the road name, and not knowing the area I can't make a reasonable guess.

Information removed due to copyright violation. See http://www.rootschat.com/forum/copyright.php for more details

Could anyone help me with either decifering the road name or knowing more about St Mary's Home. Several children were shipped out of Islington that week but no others went to this particular home.

Many thanks.

Paula

Is it Machell Road?

edt: There's a Martell Road in West Norwood.

Martell Road is a good start. I'll see if that comes up with anything in google.

Thanks.
