If you think education is expensive, try ignorance
|
Between 1901 and 1908 John Brennan [1854-1921] and Annie McTrusty [1840-1924] left Carrick Fergus and settled in Beath, Fife, Scotland with their (at least) three Irish Children Ann, James & Agnes.
Annie McTrusty then died in 1924 as a result of the genetic disease Huntington's Chorea (now known as Huntington's Disease) which was passed onto (at least) My G Grandad James, and so on to my own dad - who died last year.
I'm looking for any info or link between others who know of their family having derived from this area with the same surname - that being Brennan on the generation of Ann Agnes and James or the McTrusty's. I know Annie McTrusty's parents were Charles and Elizabeth nee McMurray. I have no parental info on John Brennan. Anything at all would be good I have loads more info if anyone is in a position to help.
Thanks
Steve

Thats AMAZING!!!
Where id you find this info... I thought I was going to have to get the Catamaran across the water to get any further!
Your info is great...
The marriage of McMurray & McTrusty is correct an relevant The birth of Agnes McTrusty is more likely my Annie McTrusty's wee sister (note that if Agnes was actually Annie then shed be 12 in the following wedding - which I doubt!) The marriage of Brennan & McTrusty is correct an relevant The birth of John Brennan, though, can't be right since he would be 13 in the above marriage!
Again, where did you get this info - so I can have a nose
Thanks
Steve

Mary,
I'll check out the Emerald site - god alone knows what money I've spent at scotlandpeople.gov.uk!!!. What is the name on the first entry you just gave me (the lass born 12 Apr 1865) - there's no name so I don't know wot 2 call her...
I'm assuming the "submitted" entry is something which should be treated with caution in the same way as ANCESTRY.COM's hints to member trees...?
McTrustry (I'm guessing you noticed the extra R) appeared on Annies death certificate. I know these are fairly unreliable but there may be some truth given what you've found.
I'll check out emerald thingy tomorrow though.
