Well done,  Alan  Cheesy

Back from my trip - didn't see MD (wouldn't recognise him if I'd passed him though  Grin  ) -  although I did stop off at a hostelry in Corbridge and got side tracked - glad it's all found.

Couldn't see much it was either  low cloud or the sea fret coming in from Whitley Bay

Safely ensconsed in Gosforth again  Grin Grin Grin

When's the next trip?

Many thanks to everyone who pitched in on this.  I didn't expect you to do half the family history as well as making field trips!

I found JenBs link

Absolutely brilliant  Grin

Click on 'location of this site on a map'.
It's right by a spot called Whitley - mother's birthplace?

Fantastic (why didn't you tell us this earlier  Grin )

Get your head out of those maps now Michael  Grin

Jennifer

especially interesting. I think I will be using it a lot as I am based north of Bristol and don't know the NE very well.  So thanks to her and WolfieSmith for this.

I'm sure I'll be back soon, but if I can help anyone with anything local here please let me know.

Best

Well Done Alan

I looked at this this morning before I went to work and thought that thread will take some sorting out and low and behold  Grin
