My Granddads twin brother, Clive McGurk drowned when he was 11 in Axminster somewhere april/may/june 1934- would that have made the papers back then? He and a bunch of kids were swimming and he drowned, think from memory a girl may have tried to save him, sadly with no luck.

If so where would I find the article? My Mum said it may have been put into the Pullmans Newspaper if an article had been done.

Also an obituary, where would I find one for him-one would have gone in I would imagine?! Was it a standard thing or depended on the person/money wise.

Thanks Ele.

This is an extremely useful site when it comes to what newspapers were published and where they can be viewed:-
