Ann, I think the Canterbury church would be St Alpheges
G**Gling for Whitstable as a place would probably produce a webpage about the town and this would contain the name of the parish church.

Remember those who are dying in foreign fields ...

I recommended this to someone last week ...
http://www.churchplansonline.org/
... you can search by county, then place name and it comes up with all possible churches and their dedications ... (and the floor plans)

Thank you all,
The Parish Church for my Canterbury marriage was more than likely St. Alphege and I have found a lovely drawing.
For my Whitstable marriage, I have the choice between All Saints and St. Alphege ... how frustrating that the marriage certificates did not mention the precise names of the churches
and I love the mention "of full age" ... for one of my couples! Thank goodness all the rest is clear and fits in beautifully with all the information I have already gathered. The family story grows ...
In passing, has anyone come across the given name of Blott in their family? (my ancestor was Blott Wells). What a peculiar first name
Thanks again Ann
