Hi everyone Does anyone know whether there is a map of this cemetery available online?
My brother was telling me that years ago there used to be a lot more gravestones there than there is now. I was wondering what happened to them all and whether their details are recorded somewhere.

Hi John
There is not a map available on line.
The Cemetery was bombed in the War and a lot of graves were destroyed.
There is only about 400+ plus left standing nowadays.
The Cemetery Office have records of interments etc.
The staff are extremely helpful.

Title - Removal of Memorials, Billing Rd Cemetary Author - Northampton Borough
Available to order on 5 microfilms at Mormon Family History Centres worldwide. Manuscript was microfilmed at the London Public Record Office, Surrey. ( I expect that his means PRO at Kew now the National Archives) Includes monumental inscriptions with dates ranging from 1836 to 1967.
I have seen these films when in Salt Lake City, but cannot remember how they are organized - alphabetical etc. It was several years ago.
Perhaps there are copies at the Northants Record Office or Northampton Library.
PRO ref is RG 37/113 pts 1-10
Mormon/LDS film numbers are 1818105 - 1818109

Hi again John.
As Marilyn has quoted a source available to view, I can say that there is no copy of the information available at The Northampton Library.
Maybe you can say who it is you need help with and we can assist you further.
I do have some maps/info for the cemetery in question.

Hi All
Thanks for the info I have emailed the cemetery services the other week and am await a reply. It seems a pity that there is no map at the cemetery its self.
The bombing would seem to tie in with the sparce area at the rear of the cemetery. Brother seems to remember more tombstones nearer the Billing road end in the 1950's

I shall be visiting that part of northampton next week and may well be going to the cemetery to take a photo for Ridgeback. The place is too big and there have been too many stones removed for it to worth while spending hours roaming the place looking for something that may no longer be there but if you have a location I will happily take a photo for you.
If you can't get a location would you like a few photos of the cemetery in general?

That's a very kind offer John but I am quite local. I've asked the Northampton council to put a marker on the spot and I'm still waiting for them to do so.

Hi John
If you don't get what you are looking for from the Council and would like the document checking at Kew then I am happy to go for you. I live fairly close, so it's no trouble, and I wouldn't mind a look for myself now that I know it exists!

Hi All.
The Cemetery Office only have 3 staff members who are brilliant.
One has just had a baby so they are down to 2 at the moment.
I am sure that a.s.a.p. they will mark the grave.
