How does one find a burial place?

Hi,

I have David Dickson WAY who died on the 26th February 1880 at the Royal Edinburgh Asylum.  He was a Chief Mate in the Merchant Services and usually resided at 6 West Cromwell Street, North Leith.   How can I find out where David is buried?

There is a long winded way of doing it - search through all the burial graounds in the area, and those where he was born, or you might find someone with a book which lists interments and could do a look up for you. Otherwise you can contact Edinburgh City Council ( bereavement services)  who may be able to help.

Try local newspapers for an announcement of his death - funeral details often appear.
