Bedfordshireboy has the right Emanuel, they travelled on the Tim Whiffler to oz and I have their arrival records so Rebecca definatly is his wifes name

OK, so where do you have your emanuel in 1861.

I see that an Emanuel married Sarah Fuller in Swaffham Prior in October 1862 - Immanuel was a widower with a father John. My Matilda nee Willis died in SP in May 1861.  A Sarah Missen died at SP  12th April 1863 age 25, so [probably my Emanuels 2nd (or 3rd) wife.   Huh

Could they be the same person

Sarah Missen b. 1830 married Henry Harvey in 1855 in newmarket but can't find them after that

Honor Missen b. 1836 married Frank Long in 1857 in chesterton but cant find them after that

Emanuel (Immanuel) b. 1839 travelled to australia in 1874 with a wife, Rebecca, but can only find marriage records for him marrying a sarah or ellen!

Sorry Huh  but you said father John.

Hi

Thats ok I thought it was me  Grin

So it looks as though your I(E) manuel is the same one who married my Sarah Matilda Willis (daughter of Edward Willis and Sarah Matilda Crisp)  Matilda was baptised 7th January 1837 married 14th January 1860 and buried 14th May 1861 all at Swaffham Prior.

Do you suppose that Imannuel never married Rebecca having already had two wives die on him. His marriage to Matilda has him as a bachelor so no marriage previous to her.

I haven't previously pursued the Missen line as my interest is with the Crisp family.

The Matilda J Mission aged 1 in 1871 was probably the Matilda Jane Missen born Dec quarter 1869 in Chesterton registration district 3b 473. The birth certificate will give you the mother's maiden name, which might help to pin down who she was and when (if) they married. She was baptised in Lt Wilbraham in 1870, daughter of Emmanuel and Rebecca

Sometimes the obvious isn't so obvious! Why didn't I check the IGI??? Dumb schmuck! Just found............

Marriage on the IGI, extracted so OK, at Fulbourn on 13 Apr 1865, Rebecca WEBB and Emmanuel MISSING. He's on FreeBMD as EmmaMuel Missing, which might be why we all missed him. So he wasn't Missing after all! I'd tried what I thought was all permutations of I/Em(m)an(n)ue(a)l. It didn't occur to me that the "n" could have been mistranscribed as an "m"!

David

Odd that they appear to have named their daughter after one of his earlier wives

Might this be Henry & Sarah Harvey in 1861 living in Mill Hill, St Mary, Newmarket RG9/1032 folio 148
Henry Harvey head marr 50 Bricklayer b Newmarket
Sarah Harvey wife 28 b Wood Ditton (5 miles from Lt Wilbraham)

I wonder if it is this Sarah Misson that you found David

Baptism at Wood Ditton
19  February 1832
Sarah MISSON
father  Richard  Mother Caroline

Danielle, do you have evidence that it was your Sarah that married Henry Harvey or is it an educated guess.  Huh

Hi

There is a possible death for Sarah MISSON in 1855 on Camdex,   age 23 Reference  331/FUL/6/357.  I don't have 1851 access so don't know where she is then.

I have a Sarah Willis b 1835, daughter of William ? Willis b1816, and Sarah (1816-1875) Whilst most of my relatives on this branch of my tree originate at Bottisham/Lode or Cambridge, many of them come from other surrounding villages including SP.I also have a Sarah Mathilda Willis, but mine was b1875, and have the surnames Harvey, Webb etc. in my tree; I have primarily worked on the Ayres/ Cornwell branches but am well aware, that the entire area seems to have been self related at this time. Have I rung any bells?
