Hi Peggy  Smiley

There seems to have been a few KENNARDs who settled in New Zealand, but in a quick "surname search" of passenger lists, I haven't been able to locate any.

In another of your threads, you have said "that 2 boys went to Australia"   ... and later in the same thread, you've said "2 boys went to New Zealand".    Huh

So can you clarify that please ?

We need a little more information :

*    How do you know that these "2 boys" actually went to either Australia or New Zealand ?

*    What other information do you have about these "2 boys"  ?

Hi Peggy

I have found some information which may relate to the sons who came to New Zealand.

I notice in your earlier thread (on the Devon board), that you say you have the parish records for the births of these KENNARD sons.

Can you please add to this thread,

*   the names and years of birth, for each of these six sons.

Hi Peggy

So,  John KENNARD (b. 1831)  (with wife Elizabeth ??) had Robert  (born 1854)...  AND also had these other sons - George, James, William, Richard, Frederick and Noal (Noah ?)

But how do you know that these other six sons, are also the children of John and Elizabeth ??

Hi Peggy

Okay  ... that's good (just didn't want to supply information, if it was for the "wrong" family).    Cheesy

I've found the 2 brothers (well, one at least I can confirm) who came to New Zealand.

I'll post the information on here, for you, a little later on, today.

Hi Peggy

The TWO  brothers from your family, who came to New Zealand, were James KENNARD (born circa 1838) and Richard KENNARD (bc 1847).

I can't tell you exactly when they arrived  ... I've only done a "surname" search of passenger lists  ... and that was to no avail.

Information for Richard KENNARD

On the IGI (familysearch.org) there is a (NZ) submitted entry for "Alfred Edward KENNARD - born 26 August 1875 at Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand - parents :  Richard KENNARD and Elizabeth GOODMAN" .

From FREE BMD (UK)

MARRIAGES - SEPT - 1869
Richard KENNARD (and on same page) > Elizabeth GOODMAN
Registration District :   Kingsbridge, Devon

From New Zealand BDM (online) - BIRTHS
...  the following children, all have the parents > Richard and Elizabeth KENNARD :

1875  -  Alfred Edward
1877  -  Ethel Annie
1879  -  Ada
1881  -  Blanche
1883  -  Leah Eliza
1888  -  Bessie
1889  -  Harry

[NOTE:   There are other KENNARD births prior to the first one listed here, but parents names are NOT shown on the index so I cannot tell you whether they were also children of Richard and Elizabeth.]

              more to come  >>

Peggy

Your request at the outset, was to find the TWO brothers who came to New Zealand !

You gave scant details and a list of SIX possible sons.
As I mentioned, I wasn't able to find any KENNARDs on a passenger list coming to New Zealand !

I did however go to a good deal of effort,  to source other information in order to try and find out for you , just who these  TWO brothers were.      AND  ... I had some further information for a James KENNARD.

Your latest comments though, tend to indicate  that you're not much interested in now having this additional information, so I'll refrain from posting it.

Peggy

I have no idea why you are asking the above question about Robert "maybe coming to New Zealand".

In this thread you've already stated that "Robert migrated to the USA"   ... and on another of your threads you've also said that Robert went to the USA aged 17 !

So, do you ... or don't you  ... have the immigration record for Robert Huh
