Thanks for the link to Trafford Lifetimes, on one of the photos on the site, looking the other way up Ashley Road, it's just about possible to make out where I used to live.  The photo you put the link to is more or less my era, my guess from the cars is that it was early 1960s.  I left Ashley Road in 1955.  My mum's shop was midway between the bus stop you can see and the next one, so I used to stand on the shop doorstep until I saw the bus and then run hell for leather to the next bus stop.  I usually made it quite easily, but one day I remember I was carrying my baby brother aged a few months and just made it to the bus stop as the bus was beginning to move off.  I jumped on holding on to my brother with one hand and the bus handle with the other.  I can still remember the gasps from the people on the bus.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
