I have a William Pescod or Peskett born c1704 at Winchester married to a Jane Harris probably sometime before 1737, which is when their daughter Jane was born, also at Winchester.
I am trying to find out who William's parents were and would be grateful for any assistance with this.

I've found the marriage.
William Pescod married Mrs Jane Harris 8 Feb 1727/8, Winchester Cathedral
No other information from the transcript, but at that date I would not expect it. Parents' names were not recorded.

My ancestor is Agnes Templeton born c1846, daughter of Hugh Templeton who was born c1814 and died c1870 at Dublin, Ireland. Any connection?

Thank you for this information. A pity that Mrs Harris' parents are not listed on the transcript of her marriage to William Pescod as I am not sure of her own identity.

There is a marriage licence for Francis HARRIS of Winchester, husbandman, to Jane WOOLDERIDGE of St Maurice, at St M. Timsbury or Michelmersh 18 August 1826. The bondsman was George WOOLDRIDGE, husbandman.
If this is your Jane it would mean a very short marriage.

Hi Bearkat
Thank you for this - it looks as though Jane WOOLDERIDGE of St Maurice might be our gal but as you say a very short marriage!!!!
If this is correct I wonder what happened to poor old Francis?
