I cant see how you can get to the actual image, maybe you cant.

Image available on ScotlandsPeople.  In the case of Scotland in 1841, the far column is where the place of birth would be listed: whether a foreigner, or born in England or Ireland.  If it were in England, I can see how a copper-plate I might be mistaken for S, but if there is anything in the column in Scotland, it has to be F, I or E.

Hi Lizdb:
Thank you so much for the info.  First; I usually search using soundex instead of Cook*.  If anyone suggests I should do otherwise, please let me know and I shall.  Second; No.  I have not seen the actual image.  But next time I am on SP I will order and have a look.  I will post the results if you are interested.

Thank you Nell.  I will take a look next time I order (just used all my credits - it is so easy to do).  Nell, do you know anything about the Irish saying they were born in Scotland to escape prejudice?

Thank you both.  Regards.

Hello again.
I take it back.  I do have the 1841 Census info and there is an "I" in the last column just as Nell had advised (for Daniel, Eliza and John but not for Eliza and Thomas).

No, I've not had any experience of that, but that doesn't mean to say it did not happen.  However, there are links between west coast of Scotland - particularly Glasgow - and Ireland.  The two are not that far apart.
