I have looked through the Freebmd records and the original G.R.O. images 1886-1915 and as you rightly say there does not seem to be a death for Lavender.
The children seem to be in different places in the 1891 censuses.
Do you think Lavender may have changed his name at all, a wild guess.
hi sandy that was the conclusion i came to either he changed his name or emigrated after the death of his wife.he also had a son named lavender born 1873 he shows in the census of 1891 living as a lodger at his fathers birthplace welney, and then he also dissapears.i checked to see if they were onboard any ships but couldnt find entries for either.just seems strange he is well documented right up until his death, and he wasnt given a middle name so if he did change his name i would have no idea what !!
