Hi Clare
If ordering a cert, I would choose one of the more unusual names.
Births Dec Quarter1852 Wright Betsey Stamford 7a 243
Betsey Wright Christening 13 SEP 1852 Saint Michael, Stamford, Lincoln, England from

Your first step should be to order the birth certificate of one of the children.
Then you will know the mothers maiden name and can search with more confidence for the marriage.
The marriage certificate should have the names of the fathers.
As they lived in Stamford and Betsy and the children were all born there it is likely they married in that area.

Why don't you buy Frederick's birth certifcate?
That will tell you the name of his mother before she married.

Hi All.
Clare welcome from me too.
I had a look for you yesterday for a baptism for John at Upton, it is such a small village that the Parish records are few.
There was no baptism noted WRIGHT only for a family of WHITE.
They had a son named John baptised in 1821 with another child at the same time, making John the Elder?.
As Stamford was in the County of Lincolnshire, maybe a link would help to that County.

Hi again Clare.
Looking at the Census image for Castor (Upton) it was a different village that I looked for John's baptism in, as the one I looked at is near Northampton Town.
Maybe someone would be able to look at Castor for you and may find John's baptism there for you.
