Would it be possible for someone to check the 1828 NSW Census for me, please?
I would like to know whether there was a WOODWARD family (or indivdual) living in the Brisbane Water area. In 1838 Sarah WOODWARD (a.k.a. WATSON or DORSET) was buried in that area, where her son had been living. He was James WOODWARD, but I would like to know if he, or any other WOODWARD family members were living there in 1828.
As far as Sarah WOODWARD was concerned, in the 1828 Census she was described as Sarah WATSON, 63, living in Benelovent Asylum, of the convict ship "Lady Julianna" (a.k.a. "Floating Brothel"), but I haven't had access to the Census since finding that out.

I seearched for Wood* = 34 hits and only Woodward on list as Ann in Government Factory Parramatta age 37 arrived 1827 on Harmony
Looked for Sarah Watson but did not come up
Then I realised that that was 1828 Australian copy and there is also 1828 TNA copy and this gives a lot more Woodward and a James age 41 arrived 1818 Ld Sidmouth and in Barracks Liverpool and there appear to be 2 separate reports on these people but none of the Woodward sound like they are in Brisbane Waters area
and this TNA has Sarah Watson age 60

Yes, that's the correct Sarah Watson aged 60. I was only going by memory when I said she was 63 in the Census. As far as a WOODWARD living in the Brisbane Water area, I guess not. I know the James WOODWARD who was living in Brisbane Water in 1838 where Sarah died, was her son born in Sydney in the early 1800's - don't know where he was "hiding" during the Census.
