Is anyone else having problems viewing anyone else's tree in Genes Reunited ? I can view my own, but when I try to view anyone else's tree, I get "Your request can not be processed at the moment. Please try later"
I've been getting this for more than two days now. Someone is pestering me for access to my tree, and I don't give access unless they supply good reason for wanting it.
Anyone else having problems ?

Thanks everyone. Fortunately one part of the site still working is the ability to cancel automatic re-subscription, which I've now done !

Just had another look at the FAQ's. They are aware of the problem and are working to fix it. I am just wishing I would hear back from someone on GR who has valuable information. Yet again I have given access to my tree and heard nothing back.

I never give access to my tree, until the person requesting gives me enough info to prove we have a match with ancestors. Too many people just ask for access, then copy other people's trees to their own even when there is no connection, they are just name collectors.
Anyone who has genuine information will give you the information as well as opening their tree.

In this case this chap's grandmother (still living) is the granddaughter of my great grandmother. I have been looking for someone to verify a photograph I have is of her for ages (if that makes any sense!). He is not a relative himself as he is a son of a second marriage but he seemed keen at the time. I hope he's busy asking granny lots of questions!
Even the people who do prove relationship often don't want to share notes or try to join in with problem solving. Having said that, I did discover a person who shared ancestry with my husband and we now meet and go to the library together. The funny thing is, she used to live just round the corner from us; I've known her for years, our daughters were in the same class at primary school!

Without Autumn there would be no Spring....

I had the same problem earlier in the week so I e-mailed them with a complaint. They replied pretty promptly and it was working ok sometime later.
I have requested contact with someone I think may be related but, sadly, they haven't replied even though I gave quite a long detailed story of evidence. I just wish they would say, "No, sadly, there's no connection".

I got the same message all Sunday, and was trying to access the tree of a 'brand new' fourth cousin. Monday evening all worked OK - seems to be an intermittent fault. Can I ask what the protocols are with these? When I joined GR I was a bit naive and didn't tick 'hide living relatives'. Someone with a connection asked to see my tree and before I knew it had recorded everyone, including my newborn grand-daughter, so I wasn't unduly chuffed. How does everyone else work the 'hide living relatives' v. giving access to people who have genuine interest in your family? Maggie
