Help please (sedgley)
« on: Sunday 28 June 09 11:26 UTC (UK) »

Hi
Can anyone please help me with 1841, 51, 61 census Sedgley. I lost all my info a few years ago when my pc died. Yes, I was stupid enough not to have backed it up on a disc. I'm looking for Hughes family. Mary Hughes born Sedgley abt 1844 father Thomas.
Grateful for any help

Hi
Are you familiar with the district of Sedgley. This is Mary's possible marriage that someone on this site kindly found for me on the Wolverhampton history site, but no church named just Wolerhampton church registers. Was woundering if it was near where she lived or possible where father lived.
John Cooper lived in Church street Bilston on 1861 census.

24 March 1863 John Cooper 23 Miner Ettingshall Father Thomas Cooper Miner
Mary Hughes 20’s  Ettingshall Father Thomas Hughes Miner

sorry i am afraid i am not that familiar with the area
by the way i have looked and looked but cannot find thomas and sarah on the 1841 census
do you know when they married only going by the eldest child on 1851 (james aged 11) it would have been possibly around 1840 or possibly a bit later or earlier.

found them in 1841 sarah is transcribed as being on her own but the actual image shows
HO107/998/11/6/5.
thomas hughes age 20. occ. miner.
sarah hughes age 20.
thomas hughes age 6mnths
living at; can lane,sedgley,staffs
all born in county
this seems to tie in with the 1851 census apart from thomas seniors age and where is james.
