Hi all
If any of you rent films / fiches at your local LDS centre, then did you know of the price increase. There are no longer short loans but only 90 day loans and the price is now £7.50 Fiches remain the same at 15p each.

Thanks for this Carol, I didn't know! It's a very large increase, I shall have to think twice about ordering the three films I had planned to look at.

Yes it is a big increase. I agree that they should go up as the librarian said that there hasn't been an increase for about 10 years. I also was about to place a couple of orders, but have now decided to go to the records office instead. I'm sure their takings will go down instead of up as others will do the same.

Yes, an increase was probably due. It would have been better though, to increase the fees steadily over time rather than having a big leap like this. I shan't be ordering many films just on the off chance now - its probably going to be more economic to visit the SOG every three months or so.

The cost roughly equates to the postage charge plus a small packing fee. The LDS have been subsidising the postage for years. Cheers Guy

Guy is right in what he says and it would never occur to me to think the LDS are ripping people off... but it is a bit of a shock. charlotte
