Hi,
I don't know whether this is going to hinder or help but Trubshaw is mainly a Staffordshire/ Derbyshire surname. I have lots of information on the Staffordshire Trubshaws though it tends to be pre 1850 unless it's in Willenhall. When you find the name of Elise's husband/ Emma's father let me know as I may be able to help you.

Thank you Judy, I'll take you up on that.
I've ordered Emma's marriage certificate from Ancestry and they usually take a couple of weeks to turn up, but hopefully that will at least give me his name, and if (with luck) there was no huge age gap between Elise and her husband, I may be able to do some backtracking in census for 1861 or even 1851.
I'll let you know,
