hi Carol,yes i've got the re-marriage of jenny,Robert must have died c1837 (not found his death yet).John did well out of the union as he took over from his step father as a miller.I am trying to trace more about Robert via John as he died before the census's started so i know little about him

Robert langmead m jenny King   STOKE GABRIEL   09 July 1828


Children bap St Andrew Plymouth where jenny was born


9th Oct 1828     23.11.1828   Robert king  to Robert and jenny    Plymouth
20th June 1831  30.09.1832  Mary Jane    to Robert and jenny    publican Tavistock Street Stoke Damerel
                           08.06 1834  John Starteforth  to Robert and jenny  publican Torpoint


Torpoint is very near Antony so born Antony could be right but no record there as he was bapt plymouth St Andrew.

Many thanks Fizzy you are a star,they are definitely the right people as john's marriage has him as john Standiford ,father Robert victualler.Did you say Jenny was from St Andrews i don't suppose there is any more on her side ,i'm wondering where the Starteforth/Standiford comes from.

1851 census jenny says that she was born St Andrews.

Not sure why they married at Stoke Gabriel as that is near Totnes.

looking at marriage date and bap of first child though they could have married out of area because she was pregnant ??

Robert Langmead   victualler   Ker Street (same sort of area as Tavistock Str Stoke Damerel)

These documents are held at Devon Record Office


Doesnt say what it is about but may be worth contacting Devon record office to find out

The DRO document looks like its a removal order so may not be your Robert but his father maybe.
