My Great Grandmother, Susan Allan Welsh,Bervie

A wee update....
« on: Saturday 18 July 09 19:05 UTC (UK) »

Hi Folks,

I am now able to give you all an update on my elusive Gt grandmother Mary Ellen Goodfellow.  The mystery has now been resolved.

Today I received her death certificate.  She died in Salford in 1918 in the November from Influenza aged 23.  She was living in Stowell street, Pendleton and working as a Book dealers assistant.  Coincidentally, was approximately the same age as my grandmother, her daughter, when she died.  I am feeling incredibly sad and am wondering if she was sent away after she gave birth to my grandmother. Cry

Anyway, I am also happy to have resolved this and now look to find her resting place.  My uncle thinks that she may be buried at St Johns in Birtley.  He thinks that this is what he was told in the 1940's, but is not positive.

Anyway, thank you all for your help and many kind suggestions.  It is much appreciated Cheesy

Kind regards,
tLynda
