I am looking for decendents of Elizabeth Mason nee Rohan born in Liverpool in1861 and her sister Mary-Ann McLoughlan nee Rohan 1851 her son was Patrick McLoughlan born 1878. I am the decendent of their other sister Margaret .  I would like to try and find any decendents .

Hi Trekkie...where did you get your info on Patrick Mcloughlan being born in 1878 ?...the only one I can find to match your Patrick is
www.freebmd.org.uk  Patrick Mcloughlan b 1871 Liverpool Mar Qtr Ref No 8b 62 ....this would make Mary - Ann 20 at Patricks birth..
on www.lancashirebmd.org.uk  Elizabeths marriage
1879 James Mason to Elizabeth Rohan at Liverpool Register office Ref No  REG/LP/165/117   
on www.freebmd.org.uk  2 marriages for Margaret Rohan ...
in 1886 Margaret Rohan Ref No Liverpool 8b 23
1875 Margaret Rohan Ref No Liverpool 8b 325 .......one of these will be YOUR Margaret.....
now the baffler....I Cannot find ANY marriage for Mary Ann Rohan to a Mcloughlan
MARY ROHAN Mar Qtr in Liverpool 1878 Ref No 8b 334...on freebmd...be back soon..
OKAY so Mary Rohan who marries in 1878 marries a John Culleton...same Ref NO as above....
cannot find a marriage for Mary-Ann Rohan ...whether Culleton becomes Mcloughlan later on as a name change ??....I don`t know...but me thinks your Mary-Ann Rohans marriage and Patricks birth will be a big research job.....good luck....allan

Thanks for all that ,I got the dates from the 1891 census where Mary-Ann is living with her widowed Mother and her son Patrick.

I`ll just check for Patricks birth register and hopefully it will be West Derby,Liverpool.....allan
ADDED...Well it`s not on lancashirebmd.org.uk.....Mariac,I presume you got your info on Ancestry ?..I stand corrected.freebmd...lets see if we can find his marriage..he wasn`t married in 1901 so we will start there..allan

THERE ARE 2 OTHER POSSIBLES REGISTERED AT WEST DERBY (ANOTHER DISTRICT OFFICE IN lIVERPOOL)
ONE IN 1914 AND ONE IN 1923(UNLIKELY)..CHECKING ON McLaughlin/Wignall births...
if Patrick did marry Ellen Wignall they had 7 children including twins...these could ALL possibly be still alive so we cannot post their names up..
go to www.freebmd.org.uk then click births...then click  search indexes...then type McLaughlin and under mothers surname you type Wignall......NINE names appear..the first 2 in Whitehaven,the next seven in Liverpool...the first 2 could easily be Patricks/Ellens as well...have a look yourself..it`s possible they moved to Whitehavn when they first got married...if you get stuck,pm me....allan

Ingrid.....the only positive way of checking is to buy the marriage cert of Patrick and Ellen Wignall  £7 ..I live 7 miles from the register office.
did you check the births registered to McLaughlin/Wignall....if Patrick and Ellen ARE RIGHT...there`s a good chance you will make contact with living rellies here in Liverpool....allan Wink
