Hi

Yes it looks like it was Joseph's second marriage. His first wife if I have the correct family, Susan, died Q3 1868, Ashton under Lyne aged 34. His son John was born Q2 1868, Ashton under Lyne.

Joseph in 1871 was a cotton weaver but a butcher in 1881 which I found a little strange.

He was married in 1861 census with a 5 year old child so maybe his first marriage could have been abt 1855.

In 1851 he was still single.

Please just check I'm on the right track here.

Smiley Smiley You betcha I`m pleased! Well done to you all.

I tried to thank you all last night but my internet connection went down. (This was at 1am here in Cyprus, when I needed to be up at 6 for work !)  I`m beginning to think my Hubby has found a way to sabotage it. And since then there have been more things to look up. Woweeee.

By the way, how do I use the folio numbers you gave me Ricky?

Thanks again, your help is greatly appreciated.  I now know I have Derbyshire roots Smiley

1841/1851 start with H0107/
