Can anyone assist me with ancestry of John Veitch, b 1739 Peebles. He was married to Janet Crawford b 1742 Peebles.
Johns' father was also called John who was born 1715, Peebles, i have no details of his wife. They had at least three children; John junior above, Janet b 1736, Joan b 1740. All born Peebles.
We have no death details of either of the two Johns above or their wives.
Our family connection is through Robert CC Veitch b 1769, son of John junior. and then to South Australia via his son Robert b 1810.
The initials Robert C.C. is also a mystery!
We have quite a lot of details of the South Aust Veitch's around Pt Pirie.

Hi Barry
I'm currently researching my family, Aitken, from Tofts, Kirkurd and West Linton, Peeblesshire, Scotland, and have info, that in 1816, Jane Veitch, married my relative, William Aitken (Carpenter), at Canongate, Edinburgh.
I think Williams' mother, was Jane Aitken, b 1791, have no further details.
William was living in Tofts, Kirkurd when he married.
Hope this helps in our jigsaw?
Do you perhaps have any details of Jane Veitch?

You may be interested to look in my Topic, in Scotland, Midlothian, "Grace Aitken, nee Tennant, Edinburgh", as quite a few Veitch's are showing up, and some of the details, may just lead you to some info that could help you. 
You have done SO well to get so far back!
