Please can someone help me to identify the two daughters of Harold Orlando Lane and Elizabeth G (Bessie) Lane nee Dee who I believe were born in Canada - possibly Blenfait - circa 1920
Harold Orlando born King Stanley Stroud Gloucestershire England 2nd April 1888. He arrived in Canada 27th February 1913 and enlisted with the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force as Sgt on 15th January 1915. He returned to England after the war and married Elizabeth G (Bessie) Dee born Randwick Stroud, at Stroud church in 4th qtr 1918.They then both set sail (albeit listed separately on the passenger listing) to Canada arriving Quebec on 14th July 1919. There does not appear to be a record of Harold's death but Elizabeth died in Weyburn Sask 13 July 1989 this turned out to be incorrect. I believe Blenfait was the main centre of their life together. They did have two daughters but I have not yet identified or located them yet. Thank you for your help with my quest thus far.

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cansacem/ lots of material to browse through here - there is a link to the Weyburn cemetery with a volunteer willing to take photos of graves.
The Weyburn Public Library might be able to help you http://wcapqlx.sasktelwebhosting.com/wpl/
Your best bet would be to try and locate an obituary for Bessie or her husband for mention of their daughters names.
http://www.saskobits.com/search.do This is a link to a recent obituary for the surname Lane in Weyburn but I'm quite sure the surname of Lane is quite common. Without tracking down the obituaries for the parents I think it might be quite difficult to find the daughers names.

Just to let you know, each province in Canada handles there own BMD registrations and they do vary in access to them by province. I have heard Saskatchewan is more difficult than the others - although I haven't needed access to Sask BMDs yet so can't say how difficult.
I don't think Saskatchewan BMDs are any more difficult to access than any other province. They are a LOT more expensive than most provinces as Saskatchewan Vital Statistics charges $50 per certificate and it's even worse if you need to have a search done.
Milavia, as JDC said, BMD registration is a provincial responsibility. Regarding births in Saskatchewan, any that occurred less than 100 years ago are protected by privacy laws. As well, deaths from less than 75 years ago are also protected in Saskatchewan.
Your best bet would be to follow Debbie's suggestion of trying to obtain obituaries from the local newspaper from the library.
Jacquie

In previous posts you indicated that Harold and Bessie returned to England in the 1960s for a visit. Harold definitely was back in England?? http://www.weyburn.ca/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=267 The plots of George Lane and Bessie Lane are side by side - it might mean they are are connected and perhaps she is not your Bessie. Why not contact the City of Weyburn Parks Department which looks after the cemetery to see if they can help you further. There is also a Dorothy Lane with a date of death in the 1930s in another section that you could inquire about. Since there was also the obituary of Marjorie Lane in Weyburn, whose date of birth would put her in contention as a possible daughter, you could add her to your list to ask particulars about.

Hi Jerose, The people you mention are certainly Bessies family who I now also emigrated to Canada. They are her brothers and sisters. Incidentally Bessie was married under the name Elizabeth G Dee. I will look for her siblings as you suggest thank you for your continued help.

Hi Debbie,
I have studied the Attensation Paper for Clifford which confirms he was Bessie Dee's brother. However, is name is actually Clifford Charles (not Clarence). I have no idea when he died I am afraid. Thanks again. Milavia
