Hi
Does anyone have a Thomas Moran in their tree from County Clare? This is where am fairly sure a family member came from. He had a son a James Moran amongst others.
Do you have a Moran family in your tree from this area?

Hope to hear from anyone out there.

I have several Thomas and James Morans in my tree but they are in Liverpool.  Does your line go through there in the 1800s?

Hi
Not that I know of. James son Thomas Christopher Moran travelled to England when he was about 16,which would be between 1905-10. And as far as know travelled and lived in Oldham more or less straight away.

Please excuse if dont reply to anyone,am having trouble with computer at mo!

Hi Mayday

hope the computer lets you reply !  I have a connection to the Moran family mainly from Scattery Island and Kilrush county clare.  Take a look at clare library on line, recently the Moran family tree has been put on there courtesy of Senan Scanlan who has written a book called Inhabitants of Scattery Island and has been digitised on the clare library site, you will find lots of information on the Morans in that area.  There are a few Thomas Morans starting with Thomas Moran 1769 following the family down to a Thomas Moran b. 9/3/1836 who had a son James Moran born 4.9.1874.  Might be another longshot  but worth checking out.

Hi MayDay,
What time frame in history are you looking for ??   I have a Thomas born 1673 in County Clare who had a son James born 1692 in County Clare, and died Dec 1774 in New Hanover Co., NC - USA.  Thomas married a Ann Gorman in 1691 in County Clare. Thomas died in 1750 in Clare, Ireland /  Offaly, Ireland . James was one of 4 children, Mary, Gabriel, and Elizabeth all born in County Clare. Gabriel & James immigrated to America about 1710-1714 after the fall of Limerick in 1691.

Is this the generation you are looking for?
