ASA RAWSON

Hi,
I have been asked to look for the family of ASA RAWSON.
He lived at Rawson House in Thornton, Bradford in the 1881 census.
I am trying to find his ancestors.
The chap said he had the information once but as mislaid it.
Can anyone Help Please.

Very careless - to mislay your family history!!
In 1881 Rawson house has several househoods living there, of which two are Rawson families:
RG11 4469 50 21
James 62 Cabinet Maker bn Hebden Bridge
Zilpah 52 bn Oxenhope
Asa 9 grandson bn Denholme
also
William 38 Joiner bn Hebden Bridge
Grace 41
Peninah? 12 (prob Hannah see 1871)
Clara 8
James A 4 wife n children bn Denholme
so just from 1881 (which is free for your friend to search) we begin to get a picture of the Rawsons inasmuch as they are into carpentry/joinery and hail from Hebden Bridge.

1871 gives us 3 possibles for Asa's parentage - or of course James and Zilpha may have had anorher child who isnt with them here who is his parent!

Obviously going for more general terms for birthplaces in 1861!
But lots more possibles for Asa's parents - you will need to get his birth cert to see who he belongs to I think
And if ages are correct Zilpha must be a second marriage
