Hello. I'm looking for any information on Henry Coombes born c 1743 Lydlinch Dorset. Henry married Elizabeth Crocker Lydlinch 8-8-1768. Would love to have ANY information about this couple! Thanks.
Henry Combe & Eliz Crocker married by Banns 8 August 1768 Witnesses: The mark + of Nich. Crocker & James Tucker Nath:Templeman pro hac vice (don't know what that means!)
James Tucker appears several times as a Witness so possibly Parish Clerk.
Possible children:
George Coombs son of Henry & Eliz baptised 25 May 1769
Mary daughter of Henry & Eliz Coombs was baptised 17 Dec 1775
Sarah daughter of Henry & Eliz Coombs was baptised Jun 1778
Henry son of Henry & Eliz Coombe was baptised 7 Oct 1770
John son of Henry & Eliz Coombe was baptised 4 May 1783
This could be Elizabeth's baptism:
Eliz daughter of John & Mary Crocker of Bagber was baptised 3 May 1751

Just checked the list of Parish Rectors, Curates & Churchwardens for Lydlinch........ 1768......Curate Nath. Templeman. Pehaps he took the service instead of the Rector.
A John Coombe was Rector 1713 - 1745.
