Hi Roy, I am still not sure of their true dates of birth. Does the marriage cert. give ages or any indication that she is a minor?

Hello Roy,  I have not had any luck with finding William Read with the information you have.

The only small glimmer of hope could be a marriage in Newington in Sept qtr 1862 of a William Read and a possible Mary Ann Simmonds.

This was near to when Jane was born also would give you a candidate for the Mary Ann Read who was the witness.

Sorry that's all I have been able to find. I have checked tens of William Read's but no 'dealer'.

Hi Jennifer.. The wedding cert states Jane  was 18yrs old and William was 21 yrs old . William was a bachelor and worked as a labourer. His father was Henry Morris ( deceased ) Address given 58 King and Queen St . t Johns Church in the parish of Walworth in the county of Surrey .
Jane Read was a spinster father William Read , address given as 10 King and queen st . See earlier post Martin Morris at 39 King and Queen st in 1881.

Jane Read might have had the middle name Sarah.
Her mother may have been Elizabeth .

Didnt think my GG grandmother would cause me as much grief.

Any tips on how to proceed .   Thanks Roy
