I know that John married Eleanor Humphrey on 29/5/1827 at St John The Baptist Church in Croydon, would the records show the parents of this couple? Can anyone tell me please? Regards poppyann

Pre civil registration there will be no father's names in the marriage register. 

This is a typical parish register entry from  1832:

As you can see, you will get the names of witnesses - who tend not to be parents (in my experience), but who may be family members.  You will also get the parish of residence for the bride and groom, and (usually, although this one doesn't show it) their marital status, written after their names.

Sometimes they do show such information, but in this case they don't as you can see for yourself:

The other thing to note is the date, it's 20 May 1827 rather than 29 May
