TIMSONS of Ware -Completed thank you
« on: Monday 29 June 09 18:06 UTC (UK) »

I'm researching the Timson family tree who were mainly born and married in the Ware/Great Amwell area.  What I don't know is where they are buried, I'm assuming Ware but cannot be sure.  If anyone is visiting local cemeteries or have any infomation on Henry Timson b. 1798 / Rebecca b. 1801 and Harry Timson b 1836  that would be great.
Many thanks

Hi

You'll need some idea of death dates if you're trying to find burials.

This looks like Rebecca's death:

Rebecca TIMSON Mar qtr 1862 Ware 3a 120

NB Her age was given as 65 in 1861, which may be more accurate than the rounded-down ages in 1841.

1861 ref for her (widowed, living in Dickinson's Yard, Ware - daughter Martha JACKSON and four JACKSON grandchildren with her): RG9/805/7/10

This sounds like the right lady because she had a daughter called Martha who married a Jackson so it's on the right track.
Thank you

Harry Timson b 1836

This child was enumerated as Henry aged 6 in the 1841 census.

However, an extracted record on IGI at www.familysearch.org shows that he was baptised as Harry, but was born a little earlier than you thought:

HARRY TIMSON

Christening: 28 June 1835
Ware, Hertfordshire

Parents: HENRY TIMSON & REBECCA

Hi Lottee,

The Hertfordshire Burial Index for 1800-1851 records four burials for the surname TIMSON at Great Amwell - Benjamin 27Jun1811 (38),  James 08Oct1809 (2), Martha 26Sep1819 (10mths) and Sarah 17May1831 (3) and just one at Ware - Eleanor Jane 19Nov1848 (3).

I can't easily find the family in 1851 to see whether Rebecca's husband Henry was still alive, but the only Henry TIMSON death on FreeBMD in Ware registration district 1841-1861 is this one:

Henry TIMSON Sep qtr 1854 Ware 3a 160

Thank you for the replies, these are brilliant.
Anna you are right about the Henry/Harry scenario. It took me ages to work this out, I keep finding Henry and Harry with the same wives and children yet in different places on census night.  Henry was at home in Ware whilst Harry was sitting on a boat in London, it had me pulling my hair out so I obtained his daughter Theresa's birth cert which verified Harry as the correct name.  Your info on him being enumerated as Harry at 6 explains the confusion and I think Henry and Harry are often used as one and the same. I have registered with familysearch but cannot gain any info at all, just keeps coming up with "no results" even though I know what info I do have is correct.
Peter will check out your info on Henry, this gives me a time to focus on and see where it goes
Bye for now

Hi

Rebecca was also my 3 x Great Grandmother on my fathers side, how about you?. Not doing too bad for descendants, but will check. Having trouble finding places of burial for the Timsons. Are you lucky enough to have any photo's?
Best wishes

Hi Lottee,
Sorry I've only got decendents from her Daughter Martha & Joseph Jackson , from my Mothers side .
I do know that some of the Jacksons were both married & buried at Willian Church , I don't know if that could help.
As we didn't know any relations at all  from the Jackson side I'm sorry to say no photo's at all .
               Yours  bjp
