Mayfield Request
« on: Monday 29 June 09 20:29 BST (UK) »

Can anyone with access to the Mayfield Registers check if there are any extra details on the marriage of Thomas Fry to Ann Lusted 26 August 1826.

I am not certain about the general assumption of Ancestry trees that he is the son of a John Fry!  Census returns are consistent in putting his birth as 1802 Mayfield, but is there an entry for any John Frys around that time in Mayfield?

Many thanks
Mike

There is a baptism entry for Thomas Fry 3 Jun 1802 Mayfield Father: John Mother Frances.

Many thanks :-)

I know my Thomas Fry married Ann Lusted, but it was the confirmation that the 1802 baptism linked him with those two parents I was lacking.

This family seems totally seperate from the other John Fry family of Mayfield - also blacksmiths! As that John Fry makes no mention of a Thomas in his Will when listing children and grandchildren :-(

That second baptism is totally baffling - it's the same church so can't be a changing of religion... can it?
