Believe it or not there is a photographer's name and address lurking in here!

I know that the last word of the address is ADDLESTONE, but can't make out the rest.  Over to the experts

Hi dobfarm

Neither am I - hence the post!

Can anyone do a negative image?  I saw in another thread that this sometimes makes things easier to read.

Thanks

It helps to not stare directly at the words but slightly above.
In the address line I can read "HIGH ST".
In the trade directories there is a photographer Wm. Rt. Morrison at 41 High St Addlestone in 1918. The first part of the line line could be Wm, the next bit that looks like a "B" might be an "R" and whole line may be "Wm Robert Morrison"  Huh

Hi dobfarm

Thanks for your efforts.  Looks like I've scared everyone else off!

I'd found the Morrison entry in Kelly's but couldn't really make the image fit.  It's a bit more likely than Butlins tho' as the family lived in Addlestone.

I'll leave the post open a bit longer in case anyone else wants to chip in

I don't suppose there is any chance that you could photograph this with a light source very low and to the top left?  Might help just looking at it with a light in that position - a bright torch at the actual level of the photo could be enough.

Hi Robert

Your torch idea turned up trumps.  It's almost certainly
