Would anybody visiting Manchester Local Studies Library be willing to do a look up for me on the Electoral Roll 1916 for a specific address?

Yes I did realise it was only the male of the species who were eligible to vote. Typical!!! LOL
The address is 12 Carter Street, Cheetham, Manchester. I don't have a name sorry.
Thank you I really appreciate your offer of help.

I've got the address from the birth certificate of an uncle and it definitely says. 12 Carter Street, in the sub district of Cheetham in the county of Manchester C.B.
Wonder if the informant (his Mother) just didn't both with whether it was North or South.
I also have the birth certificate for his brother in 1913 but that's in Salford and an entirely different address. I am trying to find out if they had the same father.

This is where the problems start. There are two addresses. It's in the sub-district of Regent Road in the County of Salford C.B.
In the section for Name, Surname and Maiden name of mother it says Jane Chapman and gives the address as 72 Dickinson Street but in the section for Residence of informant the informant was Jane Chapman (possibly her mother) and the address is 90 Eccles New Road. But I am not sure if it was Jane or her mother.
Sorry if I am confusing youwith all this.

Well, well, well the workhouse. Now I am confused. (Doesn't take much LOL) The cert actually says the birth was at 90 Eccles New Road but the mother lived at 72 Dickinson Street and the informant Jane lived 90 Eccles New Road. So it looks like Jane the mother and Jane the Informant could be the same person and was sent to the workhouse to give birth but why not give the address as 92 and why not have the baby at her parents house if that's where she lived. Really odd.
Thanks for all the info it's really interesting and very much appreciated. I will follow it up now

Sorry to be such a pest but is there any other way to find out who lived at 72 Dickinson Street? I've just noticed that Jane says she is a Domestic Servant. Wonder if it's the proverbial Master takes advantage of Maid syndrome?

Will do they can only say no can't they?
Why try Manchester when Dickinson Street was and still is (I googled it) in Salford? Is it on the border (sorry don't know the area)
