Information - Manchester Crematorium

Just for your information (and I dont know if its been posted before)

I just called the crematorium (the one by Southern Cemetery) looking for information from 1922.

The lady who answered the phone was really helpful and she checked the records for me, but advised me that a lot of records pre 1940 were destroyed in the Manchester Blitz during WW2, andy records they DO have before that came from memorial plaques in the grounds, so if the person you are looking for didnt have a memorial plaque, then the Crematorium probably doesnt have their record on file.

Just thought if anyone is searching & cant find a record before 1940 this might be of interest
